Luis Suarez who was the first victim of a wave of sacks the moment former Netherland’s coach. Roland Koeman became the new manager at Barcelona, has said that he respected the coach’s decision.

Suarez was on holidays when Koeman made a one-minute telephone call telling the Uruguayan that his services were no longer required.

But Suarez at an emotionally laden farewell ceremony from Barcelona accepted the coach’s decision.  “Regardless of the period of my contract, the club and the player need changes. In this case, the coach didn’t rely on me”,   said Suarez on his exit from Barcelona.

The 33-year-old went on to claim that he was expecting the new boss to show him the door.

“Koeman? I accepted his decision, I was expecting that,” the Uruguayan added.

“I respected it and continued to train under him until I solved my future.” Suarez leaves Barca for Atletico Madrid after becoming the Catalans’ third-best goal scorer during his six-year spell at Camp Nou.
