On his last day as a Barcelona player, outcast striker, Luis Suarez has been labeled by the president, Josep Maria Bartomeu as legend.
Even at that, new coach, Roland Koeman has no place for the legend in his squad.
“Today marks an important day. We’re going to bid farewell to a Barca legend,” the FC Barcelona president, Bartomeu said during Suarez’s goodbye ceremony at Camp Nou this Thursday.
“Back in the day, Luis opted for Barca with enormous passion. On behalf of all the Catalans in the world I thank you. May you be very happy on and off the pitch. For you and your family, Barca is your home forever.”
Despite being the Blaugrana’s third-best goalscorer in history, Suarez was shown the door by Ronald Koeman last month. The 33-year-old’s move to Atletico Madrid to was confirmed on Wednesday.
“We will organise a farewell game for Suarez at the end of the pandemic,” Bartomeu added.
