Champions League runners-up, Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly closely monitoring the situation surrounding Lionel Messi’s future at Barcelona after the 33-year-old asked the club to let him leave,

According to ESPN, the Neymar-propelled club are yet to contact the 33-year-old’s camp or to make an official offer to the Catalans.

The idea is to enter the race for the Argentine if he’s available for free or for a relatively small fee.

It would be very hard for PSG to meet Messi’s wage demands and comply with Financial Fair Play rules but sources at the club told ESPN that ‘it is not impossible’. But Manchester City are the front-runners for Messi due to his relationship with Pep Guardiola.
