FA CUP 2020 WITNESSES UNUSUAL PRESENTATION

The 2020 FA Cup is the 139th in history. But it is the first to be played behind closed doors.

So pronounced was the social distancing that there was no one to do the trophy presentation after Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1.

It had earlier been announced that trophy presentation will be done on the pitch instead of taking place at the VIP stands as it used to be.

It was self-service all the way. Match-winner, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang walked to the table and picked the trophy.

He ambled his way over to the rest of the squad before hoisting the trophy aloft.

Meanwhile, the defeated Chelsea were spared the shame of having to walk the 39 steps to pick up their runners-up medals.

Meanwhile, it’s self-service for Arsenal as they collect their individual prizes on the pitch.
