ENYEAMA LEADS OTHER AFRICAN LEGENDS AGAINST COVID-19

Former Super Eagles captain and goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, on Sunday teamed up with some prominent former Africans to fight against the dreaded Coronavirus that is ravaging the world in the last two months.

The Nigeria goalkeeper to three World cup finals in 2002, 2010 and 2014 in Brazil was part of a group of continental football legends that came together for a short video for the #Safehands and #Noshandshake challenge as part of efforts towards the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

The short video came 24 hours after the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick also released a short video on behalf of the board and football community in the country.

However, in the 98-seconds video by the African legends included Roger Milla of Cameroon, Herita Ilunga  and Tresor Lomana Lualua both from DR Congo, El-Hadi Diouf, Alassane N’Dour, Khalilou Fadiga and Diomansy Kamara from Senegal,

Atlas Lion of Morocco’s France 1998 striker, Mustafa El-Haddaoui, Jean Ssenide of Ugada the only female,  Wael Gomaa of Egypt, Fatau Dauda and Anthony Baffoe of Ghana completed the list.

In the short clip, with players with the players in their respective locations emphasizing on the importance of washing the hands and avoiding handshake, critical to the battle against COVID-19, which has brought the entire world to a halt.

Representing various generations, and led by CAF Deputy General Secretary, Baffoe, they tutored audience steps for the #Safehands challenge as outlined in the video is as follows include the following;Apply soap, Lather your hands well with soap, Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds, Rinse your hands under clean water and Dry your hands using a clean towel

The likes of Diouf and Lualua spoke in their local dialects, Wolof and Lingala, for their natives.

As a result of COVID-19, CAF has suspended all competitions until further notice and remain in constant with partners such as the World Health Organisation, FIFA among others in the fight against the menace.
