Tottenham are clear favourites to sign Queen Park Rangers’ midfielder, Nigerian born Eberechi Eze after the £20million price tag put off Sheffield United and Crystal Palace.

Spurs have been monitoring the 21-year-old for some time, with former manager Mauricio Pochettino showing a great interest in the youngster before his sacking in November.

Jose Mourinho is now looking to strengthen his midfield in the upcoming summer transfer window and is likely to make a bid for the £20m-rated Eze, reported the Sun.

Championship side QPR’s high valuation of the creative midfielder is said to have put off Sheffield United and Crystal Palace who were also interested in signing him.

Tottenham may tempt QPR with a player swap package in order to land Eze’s signature.

Eze’s current deal with the R’s runs out in 2021 but a transfer to another London based club could see him leave in the upcoming window.

The England international has impressed at the Kiyan Prince Foundation stadium this season with 12 goals and eight assists in the second division.
