CAF APPOINT ANOTHER MOROCCAN AS ACTING GENERAL SECRETARY

Confederation of African Football, CAF, have appointed Abdelmounaim Bah, a Moroccan as the Acting General Secretary, replacing compatriot Mouad Hajji who resigned on Monday.

He becomes the third Moroccan to be on the saddle after Hicham El Amrani (2010-2017) and Moud Haijji (2019-2020). Morocco and Egypt have been the only countries to produce General Secretaries for CAF since 1961.

According to a press release by CAF, the appointment of the acting General Secretary was made by the CAF Emergency Committee meeting that took place on Tuesday.

Bah was appointed as CAF’s Commercial director back in June 2018 and has since impressed in his role especially during the 2019 AFCON.

Despite his new commitment, Bah will remain in his position as Commercial Director and will be replaced when a new General Secretary is chosen in the upcoming CAF Executive Committee.
