Former Nigeria Under 17 goalkeeper, Adebayo Adeleye who is currently featuring for Hapoel Katamon FC of Israel, has expressed desire for an invite ahead Nigeria Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.

The 19 year old goal tender in an exclusive chat with www.sportsvillagesquare.com believes he has what it takes to surpasse legendary Nigerian goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama who also played large part of his career in Israel.

“It’s been a while have been dreaming to get an invite from coach the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr. Standing between the sticks for the national team is a goal I can’t wait to achieve.

” I have learnt enough and gathered a lot of experience here in Israel. As a matter of fact, I retained my team number 1 glove based on the perception a lot of people have about my fellow countryman, Vincent Enyeama. I can’t wait to relish same when given the chance to join the Eagles.

” I knew my worth and I think I can help solve the Super Eagles goalkeeping problems if given the chance, remarked the player.

Adeleye who has recorded several clean sheets in Israel further hinted that age was on his side to gel with the young lads in the present Super Eagles team.

“It’s obvious the present Eagles coach loves building his team on youngsters. I mean the presence of Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen, Joe Aribo and the host of others found favour because of their age. I believe such can also work for me when given a chance to showcase my talent.

“The players have not stop showcasing their talents and dreams. With this, I think the boys will qualify for the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon and go ahead to make Nigerians proud once again,” Adeleye stated.
