Embattled Nigeria’s former international footballer and coach, Samson Siasia was just able to rake an additional $55 to add to the previous $275 realized when he lunched an appeal on the platform of GoFundMe, an American for-profit online crowd-funding platform three weeks ago.
The target donation is $250,000 out of which only $330 have been realized.
Sports Village Square reports that the additional fund is made up of $25, $10 and $20 made on Wednesday by donors identified as Olufisayo Fakunle, Ahmad Adiatu and an anonymous donor respectively.
Before then, an anonymous donor who offered $50 made the last donation 12 days earlier. The platform records that one Olu Fadeyi donated $25 while the highest and first donor is Benson Ejindu who paid $200.
Earlier in the week, a video surfaced of Samson Siasia making a passionate appeal to Nigerians to come to his aid ahead of his legal appeal against a FIFA life ban, which is expected to come up at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) on March 19, 2020.
In the trending video, Siasia posited that if 200,000 Nigerians donated N500 naira each, the target would be made for him to raise $250,000 to save his career.
