FC BARCELONA INVENTS ‘ANTI-PIQUE’ CLAUSE IN PLAYERS’ NEW CONTRACTS

Since last season, Barcelona have started to include special ‘anti-Pique’ clauses in the players’ new contracts, ABC understand.

According to Spanish publication, Tribuna, as soon as a contract is signed, a player commits to distance himself from making his career compatible with any other professional activity unless the club itself expresses its agreement.

The reason for including this provision is surely Gerard Pique’s business matters that sometimes isolate him from what’s happening on Barca’s training ground.

As a reminder, Pique’s investment company Kosmos Group helped to organize the well-known Davis Cup in Madrid. Besides, the 32-year-old is the president of the Andorra football club.

Gerard has recently revealed  that he sometimes gets only four to five hours of sleep per night, which is an unhealthy amount for a professional athlete.
