FORMER SUPER EAGLES’ TARGET, CHELSEA’S TAMMY ABRAHAM DREAMS FACING MESSI AND CO AT CAMP NOU’

Perhaps so sure of his form and that of his teammates in Chelsea, the dream of Tammy Abraham is to see his club Chelsea drawn to face Lionel Messi-powered FC Barcelona in the Champions League, even though not all qualifiers are determined yet.

Abraham was twice pursued by Nigerian football officials to switch allegiance and feature for the Super Eagles instead of England. He has been in devastating form this season.

According to Spanish publication, it’s already known that Chelsea might be one of Barca’s opponents in the knockout stage. Their players are ready to make a trip to Catalonia.

Talking to the press, Tammy Abraham said that he would like to take on Barcelona at Camp Nou.

“No fear. We’re ready for anyone. I would love to play at Camp Nou or somewhere I’ve never played before.

“This is exciting, very exciting. We’re never ones to back down from a challenge. We want to play against the best teams in the world and play in the best stadiums in the world,” said Abraham, as quoted by Diario AS.

Barcelona have finished first in Group F, meaning they will face a team that finishes second in their group. Chelsea, for instance, finished in second place in Group E, one point behind Valencia.

It wouldn’t be the first time Barca face the Blues in the Round of 16. The two teams faced each other at the same stage back in the 2017-18 season.

The match at Stamford Bridge ended in a 1-1 draw. Barca beat the English team 3-1 in the return leg and advanced further.
