It was a great relief for Arsenal, the fans and the caretaker coach, Freddie Ljungberg when the club eventually bounced back to defeat West Ham on Monday to end their longest winless run in 42 years.
Things appear to be going the usual way when Nigerian-born Italian player, Obinze Angelo Ogbonna scored from a header in the 38th minute to make the visiting Arsenal trail 0-1 at half time.
Ogbonna who plays as centre-back for West Ham and the Italian national team transferred to West Ham from Juventus. He was a member of the Italian side, which finished runners-up at UEFA Euro 2012 and also featured in the 2016 edition.
He was born to Nigerian parents who emigrated to Italy in 1983, settling in Cassinp in the central part of the country.
Ogbonna obtained Italian citizenship after his 18th birthday.
