Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets may not have made it beyond the Round of 16 in the just concluded FIFA U17 World Cup, the efforts of striker Ibrahim Said may still be rewarded.
The Nigerian was the first to score an hattrick at the Brazil 2019 when he scored all the three goals in Nigeria’s 3-2 comeback win over Ecuador at the group stage.
His second goal, which put scores at 2-2 has been nominated for ranking among the best 10 goals of a tournament in which 177 goals were scored. Visitors to FIFA website (www.fifa.com) are requested to vote in a poll that started on Monday and due to close at 5pm next week Monday.
Others jostling with Nigeria’s Ibrahim Said are: Brazil’s Diego in the match with Chile, Paraguay’s Diego Duarte in the clash with Argentina, Matias Godoy goal for Argentina in the duel with Tajikistan and that of Italy’s Degnand Gnonto against Mexico.
Others are: Sontje Hansen of the Netherlands against Paraguay, Gaetano Oristanio of Italy against Ecuador, Nathanael Mbuku of France against Australia, Santiago Munoz of Mexico against Japan as well as that of Brazil’s Gabriel Varon against Angola.
