Again, Nigeria’s coach, Imama Amakabo, has failed to deliver crucial qualifying ticket for Nigeria as his U23 side could not summon enogh guts to move beyond the the group stage of the CAF U23 Nations Cup which serves as the qualifying tournament for the football event of the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The Nigerian Olympic Eagles played a goalless draw against South Africa while Cote d’Ivoire beat Zambia 1-0 to emerge as group leaders.

Both third placed Nigeria and Zambia, the last team in Group have their Olympic dreams shattered. It is the second time in about three weeks that a team handled by Amapakabo has failed Nigeria.

He handled the domestic Super Eagles that was bundled out of the qualifying tournament by Togo recently. His team also failed to make appreciable impact at the WAFU Cup held last month in Senegal.
