The Super Eagles may have struggled to beat Republic of Benin 2-1 in Uyo, the team is now leading the Group L of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.

This follows the inability of Sierra Leone to maximize its home advantage in Freetown in the game with Lesotho. The match ended 1-1. Thus, Nigeria with three points are leading the group jointly followed by Lesotho and Sierra Leone.

In continuation of the series, Nigeria will play against Lesotho on Sunday while Benin Republic will host Sierra Leone. The two top finishers will qualify for the final tournament in Cameroon.
