CYCLING: ILABOYA TO DECLARE COMMISSAIRES COURSE OPEN

The Chairman of Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State of Nigeria, Frank Ilaboya is to declare open the National Commissaires’ (Referees) course which is scheduled to hold at Uzebba in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State on November 21, 2020.


Osaretin Emuze, the Chairmam of the National Cycling Commissaires Association of Nigeria (NACCAN ) disclosed in Lagos that Ilaboya who is also the CEO of SportsVille limited said “he  decided to bankroll the referees course because of his love for cycling and to make the youths of Owan West Local Government Area and South South to be part of officiating officials of cycling at the Sports Festival next year”.


The NACCAN chairman who said the association partnered Ilaboya to produce quality referees to compliment the officiating officials for  the forthcoming Edo 2020 National Sports Festival, added that Ilaboya would also present certificates to all the participants.

Two participants are expected from nine states in the South South zone of the country and its environs.. The states include Ondo, Kogi, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Edo while the host local government will present five.


Emuze stressed that the organizers will be responsible for the accommodation of the over 30 participants who are however to cater for their feeding for the duration of the course.

“Dr Emmanual Igbinosa, an International Cycling Union,UCI as well as the Confederation of Africa Cycling  (CAC) certified referee  will be the resource person”, Emuze said, adding, “Participants are expected to arrive on Wednesday, November 20 and depart on Saturday, November 23, 2019”.
