NIGERIA FOOTBALL SEASON FINALLY BEGINS

After delay occasioned by logistics, the 2019/2020 Nigerian football season will finally kick off this Sunday. The league was originally scheduled to begin last August but was shifted to September before the November 3 date became a reality.

All the same, the November 3 date will be one of the earliest that the Nigerian season ever kicked off as it became traditional for league kickoff date to suffer postponements.

As the season kicks off, only eight matches are on the card as two are postponed to allow Enugu Rangers and Enyimba honour continental fixtures.

The three matches on Match Day 1 are:

  • Delta Force vs Akwa Starlets
  • Heartland  vs MFM
  • FC IfeanyiUbah vs Adamawa United
  • Kano Pillars vs Rivers United
  • Wikki Tourists vs Jigawa Golden Stars
  • Plateau United vs Lobi Stars
  • Warri Wolves vs Akwa United
  • Abia Warriors vs Katsina United

The Enyimba vs Nasarawa United and Rangers vs Sunshine Stars are promoted as both Rangers and Enyimba are engaged in the CAF Confederation Cup.
