THREE GOALS IN SIX MINUTES GIVE NIGERIA 4-2 WIN OVER HUNGARY
BY KUNLE SOLAJA.
A late rally by the Nigerian Golden Eaglets on Satuday night gave the team a 4-2 win over Hungary in the opening Group B match of the FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.
what an amazing turn around! The match had a dramatic opener jut like their lat encounter 34 years ago as hungary opened scoring within three minutes of the match.
Thirty four years ago in China, both teams met in the quarter finals and just as that of Brazil 2019, Hungary scored within two minutes before Nigeria fought back through a brace by Victor Igbinoba to give Nigeria a 3-1 win.
This time around, it was Tijani who got a brace and Nigeria still had a two-goal margin win. It initially looked as if Nigeria would end u at the recieving end as Hungary held on tenaciously to their first half 2-1 lead.
As th clock wound down, nigeria got the desired equaliser in the 79th minue as when Samson Usman ibrahim nodded home from a left sided corner kick.
The ovation that greeted the equaising goal had hardly died down when Oluwatimilehin Adeniyi shot Nigeria ahead two minutes later.
Three minutes after the goal, Samson Usman who had earlier in the 20th minute scored from the penalty spot, converted a direct free kick to cushoned Nigeria’s victory.
