EDO 2020 NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL‘S MASCOT UNVEILING HOLDS IN BENIN
The Edo State Government is set to unveil the mascot of the 20th National Sports Festival tagged: “Edo 2020 ” in Benin, the Edo State capital on Thursday.
According to the chairman of the Main Orgainising Committee (MOC), Olusade Adesola, the event holds at the Edo Heritage Hotel and Guest House.
This event is coming up as part of lined up activities heralding the festival proper which has been slated to take place in March 2020 in Benin.
This unveiling is coming on the heels of several joint technical meetings between the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, state Directors of Sports and the Edo State Government who have showed commendable commitment to the successful hosting of the game.
According to Mrs Hauwa Kulu Akinyemi, the Chairperson of the Secretariat Subcommittee, “this effort is firstly the personal determination and appreciable political will of His Excellency Gov. Noghehase Obaseki popularly called ” Wake and See Governor.
“This shows the impact of his administration amongst the Edo people who truly cherish him. The Ministry commends the government and people of Edo State for their unwavering support and rare hospitality to this 20th National Sports Festival, which they won the hosting right for since the last one held in Abuja in December, 2019.”
