Nigeria’s Super Eagles face Brazil on Sunday in Singapore as part of the two-match global tour by the five-time World Cup holders.

Brazil have not won in their last three matches preceding the clash with Nigeria on Sunday. Last Thursday, they were held to a 1-1 draw by Senegal.

Brazil’s defensive midfielder Casemiro admitted to local newspapers in Singapore that the Selecao haven’t been at their best, but  he insisted there is no need to panic as they set to meet Nigeria.

Brazil won the last encounter 3-0 16 years ago in Abuja. At the time, Nigeria’s team was bubbling with globally acclaimed stars like Austin Jay Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu.

But Nigeria’s famous defeat of Brazil, though not considered a Grade A match, was the 4-3 scoreline at the semi-finals of the 1996 Olympic Games’ football event.

The encounter is considered a age-graded as only three over 23-year old are permitted per squad. Brazil’s last three matches ahead of Sunday tie are the 2-2 draw with Colombia, a 0-1 loss to Peru last month and the recent 1-1 draw with Senegal.

The  last time Brazil failed to win in three straight games was in 2013.
