BURKINA FASO SHOCK HOSTS, MOROCCO TO SHOOT AHEAD OF NIGERIA IN AFRICAN GAMES FOOTBALL

After Nigeria’s 2-1 defeat of South Africa in the Tuesday’s African Games Group A football tournament, Burkina Faso pulled an upset in the second game of the group by beating hosts, Morocco 2-0.

The result means that Burkina Faso sit atop of the group, having obtained a better goal difference than Nigeria. Both teams have four points from a win and a drawn game each.

South Africa, defeated by Nigeria are eliminated. They will face table-topper, Burkina Faso in the last group match on Friday.

Nigeria on the other hand will have to dig deeper when facing Morocco who are on the brink of elimination at the group stage.

Burkina Faso’s two goals against Morocco were scored by Ibrahim Qattara in the 31st minute and Elliass Dianda in the 58th minute.
