THE MOVING TRAIN GRINDS TO A HALT AS OBASEKI DIES AT 75

The pioneer chairman of the Nigeria Professional Football League established on January 18, 2005, Chief Oyuiki Obaseki, is dead.

Sports Village Square gathered that Chief Obaseki who headed a 15-man interim management team died aged 75 after a protracted illness in Benin City, Edo State on Sunday.

He had been sick for over three years until his death. Popularly known as the “Moving Train”, Obaseki was the second vice-chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation from 2007 to 2009.
