Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has given his new club in the French Ligue 1 something to share as he score a brace in his first match for the club. His club beat Samson Siasia’s former club, Nantes 2-1.
Siasia played for Nantes from 1993 to 1995. It was indeed Osimhen’s day as he looked set to grab a permanent shirt in the Super Eagles.
He joined Lille a few days ago from Sporting Chaleroi of Belgium for a reported $25 million and has already started paying back a chunk of that huge transfer fee.
Osimhen found the net after 19 minutes to put his new club ahead. He thus become the first Nigerian since Austin Okocha’s appearance for PSG 21 years ago to score in a Ligue 1 debut
Nantes leveled up in second half through Zeki Celik own goal. But Osimhen restored the lead for his club later in the 80th minute.
