Sonorous music, thunderous applause and much more in a carnival-like atmosphere greeted the Super Eagles’ splendid qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final on Wednesday across the Star Fan Parks.
The Super Eagles confirmed their supremacy over South Africa; beating them 2-1 in the quarterfinal game played at the Cairo International Stadium.
Samuel Chukwueze who had a shining performance and was rightly adjudged man-of-the-match gave Nigeria the lead in the first half.
Though Bongani Zungu gave Bafana Bafana a lifeline when he equalised in the 70th minute, the Super Eagles soared into the semi-final with the late winning goal from Willaim Troost-Ekong.
