Madagascar, the home country of CAF president, Ahmad, has finally run out of steam following a flurry of upsets they created at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Indian Ocean island nation had beaten big names in the continent before Tunisia, with a 3-0 defeat finally end their remarkable run and reached the semi-finals.
It was not easy initially for the Tunisians, the overwhelming favourites to win the match. They were contained in the first half that ended goalless before they reloaded their guns at half time.
Tunisia got launched into the victory path when a Madagascar defender inadvertently deflected a shot into his own goal net. It was the beginning of Tunisia getting their first clear win in the tournament having drawn their three group matches and also the Round of 16 game with Ghana which was later decided by penalty shootout.
Youssef Msakni added a second goal in the 60th minute for Tunisia before substitute Naim Sliti finished it off on the break in stoppage time to earn them a semi-final against Senegal on Sunday.
