Nigeria Football Federation chieftain, Amaju Pinnick, along with billionaire, Femi Otedola, on Tuesday visited ailing Nigerian national football team former captain and coach, Christian Chukwu at Wellington Hospital, Circus Road, St John’s Woods London. Chukwu is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Otedola, through his foundation, recently made a donation of $50,000 to aid the medical treatment of the first Nigerian footballer to lift the Africa Cup of Nations trophy.

Chukwu was flown to London on May 17, after he was diagnosed with an undisclosed illness that left him on a wheelchair.

“I am very happy with the efforts of the Nigeria Football Federation through the President, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick. He has proved that he is truly father of Nigerian Football. I am also grateful for the support and prayers of other Nigerians. “It is waist pain and stomach upset that I keep feeling. The doctors in Nigeria have treated the stomach upset and it remains the waist pain, but I am confident that I will come back to Nigeria having regained sound health,” Chukwu remarked.
