Former Nigeria international goalkeeper, Peter Rufai is organizing a youth football tournament at the Agege Stadium in Lagos. He told www.sportsvillagesquare.com that his intention was to give back to the society the glory that football gave him in his playing days.
He said that 15 states of the federation were expected to feature in the five day event which runs from April 23 to 27. According to him, his intention was create a platform for the young Nigerian to showcase their talents before scouts from the European clubs he had featured for.
“It is also a way to curb the unnecessary human trafficking on young players who are lured into foreign lands under the guise of getting them clubs abroad. Most had their lives ruined even after making their families to sell landed properties.”
