TANZANIA U-17 BOYS PROMISED HEAVY FINANCIAL REWARDS TO BEAT EAGLETS AND GET WORLD CUP TICKET

Tanzania U-17 players otherwise called Serengeti Boys have been motivated ahead of their clash with Nigeria this Sunday afternoon as the CAF U-17 Nations Cup gets underway.

The Tanzanians are the hosts in a competition which serves as qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Sports Village Square gathered from Tanzania publication, The Citizen that each of the Tanzanian players have been promised Sh20 million ($8,700).

The promise to the players was made by team’s patron, Reginald Mengi. He reportedly made the pledge after a meeting with Paul Makonda, the chairman of a special committee Tanzania put in place to ensure that the team picks a World Cup ticket.
