The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has denied several publications concerning the draw procedure for the l African Cup of Nations 2019.

The confederation insists that its website is the only official communication of CAF competitions. It further stated, “in accordance with the statutes and regulations of CAF, the procedure for the draw of the Total AFCON, Egypt 2019 will be submitted to the AFCON Organizing Committee and approved by the Executive Committee”.

With barely three days to the draw, the confederation did not state when the procedure would be submitted to the AFCON Organizing Committee, which is headed by Amaju Pinnick of Nigeria. It however stated that its website will publish the procedure as soon as it is approved by the Executive Committee.
