FLYING EAGLES ARE A WIN FROM FLYING TO POLAND 2019

BY KUNLE SOLAJA.

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, hoping for a record-extending eighth win of the African U-20 title, may on Tuesday become the first African side to qualify for Poland 2019.

A win in the Tuesday’s clash with South Africa’s Amajita will guarantee Nigeria’s Flying Eagles’ flight ticket to the FIFA U-20 World Cup later this year.

South Africa played 1-1 draw with hosts, Niger Republic on Saturday while Nigeria recorded an emphatic 2-0 win over Burundi to top the group.

Should they win again; the point gap with South Africa will be extended to five, giving the Flying Eagles a sure ticket for the semifinal.

All semi-finalists automatically qualify for the World Cup. The match at the Seyni Kouche Stadium will be the fifth ever between Nigeria and South Africa at the Under 20 level.
