Niger Republic, Nigeria’s Group A opponents in next weekend’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, have fired a warning shot to the Flying Eagles following the team’s 2-0 defeat of Ghana on Wednesday in a pre-tournament friendly match.

The Nigerian sides are scheduled to face hosts, Niger Republic on February 8. But the Nigerien team has proven that it would be a hard nut to crack.

On Wednesday, after a goalless first half in the duel with Ghana’s Black Satellites, the Nigerien team scored two goals in the second half.

The two goals however came via penalty kicks.
