Uruguayan footballer Diego Rolan has revealed that Emiliano Sala sent a message to a friend and claimed he was scared during his flight to Cardiff.

The aircraft carrying the new Cardiff City signing to Wales disappeared and contact with it was lost soon after crossing the English Channel on Monday.

"Emiliano [Sala] sent a message to a friend from the flight and told him he was afraid, that if they didn't find him he would already knew what had happened," said Rolan to 1010AM Radio.

Police suspended the search late on Tuesday and declared that there was no trace of the aircraft.
