OSUN FA ELECTION HOLDS FEBRUARY 25

A fresh election into the board of State of Osun Football Association will take place on Monday February 25, 2019 at the Oshogbo Township Stadium.

According to a statement from the state football secretariat stated that the Electoral Committee has fixed Monday January 21, through Friday January 25, for the collection of nomination forms into the executive positions.

Osun F.A boss, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, on Monday January 14, inaugurated the FA’s Election Committee as well as the Electoral Appeals Committee ahead of the FA elections which comes up late next month and the electoral committee swings into action immediately following it inauguration setting the price for the nomination forms.


Form for the post of the chairman attract N100,000, while N75,000 is for the post of vice chairman while other members are to pay N50,000 for their forms.

The current Ogunjobi-led Osun FA board was elected into office on Thursday February 26, 2015 for a four-year term.

Osun FA Electoral Committee comprises of Barrister Taiwo Awokunle as Chairman, Peter Adediji as Vice-chairman. Members are Nurudeen Olapade, Prince Yemi Adegoke, Honourable Toki Fatai Kolapo, Sonaike Abiodun, and Honourable Kareem Akadi. The secretary is Amoo Abayomi, who is the state FA scribe.

Substitute members are Adeleke Abdulrasheed and Akeem Adebayo.

The Appeal Committee is made of Praise Ofoyeju, Mrs. Ronke Ogunbawo, and Bashir Olaposi, as members, while Tunde Adebiyi, will serve as the secretary.


Return of the nomination forms begins from Wednesday January 30, to Wednesday February 6, while screening of candidates has been fixed for Monday February 11, and Tuesday February 12, and final list of qualified and unqualified candidates to emerge on Thursday February 14 and Friday 15, just as protests and appeals shall be heard on Monday February 18 and Tuesday February 19, 2019.

Election and swearing in of the candidates will hold as scheduled on Monday February 25, 2019 at the Oshogbo Township Stadium.
