The wait has been cut short by nearly 24 hours as the Executive Committee of CAF is set to name the host country for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations this Tuesday in Dakar, Senegal.
Originally, the announcement was slated for Wednesday after the CAF Awards. But on Monday, the continental body decided to hold an emergency meeting this Tuesday.
The meeting slated for Terrou-Bi Hotel in Dakar should be holding about now as the time is put at 08H30 GMT. According to CAF media statement, a press conference will hold at the same venue almost immediately after the meeting.
The two countries jostling for the hosting are South Africa and Egypt. Both have previously successfully hosted the competition.
The country chosen will go into the record books as the first to host a 24-team format.
