RANGERS SCALES CAF CONFEDERATION CUP HURDLE

Nigeria maintains its 100% entries in CAF interclub competitions as flag-bearers in CAF Confederation Cup, Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu overpower Algeria’s USM Bel Abes to qualify for the next stage.

Sports Village Square recalls that 24 hours earlier, Lobi Stars on the same ground edged out Kenya’s Gor Mahia in the CAF Champions League to move to the group stage. That has ensured that the two entries by Nigeria are still on course.

Both teams achieved their advancement to the next stage almost in similar fashion at the same Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. Both had 2-0 defeat of their opponents. Bright Silas scored both goals for Rangers on Sunday to replicate the brace achieved by Sikiru Alimi for Lobi Stars against Kenya’s Gor Mahia on Saturday.
