CONFIRMED! EMMANUEL AMUNEKE PITCHED AGAINST HIS FORMER TEAM, GOLDEN EAGLETS

As projected by the Sports Village Square on Wednesday, former Nigerian international and coach, Emmanuel Amuneke will lead Tanzania against the Golden Eaglets when the  U-17 Africa Cup of Nations gets underway next year.

Amuneke led the Nigerian team to runners-up position in 2015 before plotting the team’s success to a record setting fifth win of the FIFA U-17 World Cup later that year. He now handles Tanzania, the team Nigeria has been pitched against when the draw was conducted at the Mlimani City Conference Centre à Dar Es Salam, Tanzania on Thursday evening.

Also completion in the Group A along with Nigeria and Tanzania are Uganda and Angola. Amuneke was also part of the coaching crew of the Golden Eaglets when the team won the World Cup in 2013.

As the chief coach in Tanzania, he is also responsible for the U-17 team of the country. Professionally, Amuneke will be committed to his Tanzanian team as it has happened in the past, even on larger scale. Otto Martins Gloria, a Brazilian handled Portugal against Brazil at the 1966 World Cup just as Sven-Goran Eriksson did for England against his home country, Sweden at the 2002 World Cup.
