South Africa Football Association which at the weekend announced that the Confederation of African Football, CAF, has approached it for possible hosting of the 2019 Africa Cup may not be the only one after all.
CAF on Thursday announced that similar application was sent to all the CAF association members which include the Nigeria Football Federation.
According to CAF’s statement, interested bidding countries must submit their book bids by midnight of Friday next week.
It stated further that from Saturday 15 December 2018, CAF will make a short list announcement, request further information from bidders and make possible on-site visits to complete the evaluation of applications;
“Once the technical evaluation phase has been completed, the CAF Executive Committee will decide the new host of AFCON 2019 which will take place in summer 2019.”
