SOUTH AFRICA LAUNCHES MATCH TICKET LOTTERY TO WIN OVER CROWD
With crowd attendance looking dim ahead of Saturday’s match that pitches Nigeria against South Africa in Johannesburg, a South African publication, Sowetan in conjunction with Castle Lager, has launched a ticket lottery to get South Africans to be interested in the match.
Fears loom that the huge Nigerian population in Pretoria and Johannesburg could outnumber the scanty attendance of the match by South Africans.
Before now, a popular pop star in South Africa, AKA, had been conscripted to put up entertainment at the stadium ahead of the match so as to draw the crowd. But there is still apathy on the part of South Africans.
The publishing house therefore teamed with the lager beer producers to induce the crowd to attend the match. They have launched the ‘Smash The Label with Bafana Bafana, as they stand united against Xenophobia with Castle Lager’ campaign.
The project is to give away 10x double tickets to lucky fans ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualification fixture. South Africans were supposed to answer a simple question which response is already an open secret.
“To stand a chance of winning these tickets, answer this simple question: Which SA Hip-Hop sensation is scheduled to perform at FNB Stadium ahead of Bafana Bafana’s 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria?”
It has been of general knowledge that the hip hop and pop star, AKA, has been roped in to provide pre-match entertainment ahead of the match expected to kick off 3pm local time (2pm in Nigeria)
The newspaper hyped up a supposedly high calibre of players that Bafana Bafana would be parading. “The Bafana squad is looking formidable especially with the inclusion of Thulani Serero, Percy Tau, Lebo Mothiba, Itumeleng Khune and Dino Ndlovu.”
