SAMUEL KALU IS MY REPLACEMENT FOR VICTOR MOSES, SAYS ROHR
Super Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr has revealed that he has found a replacement for Victor Moses who made a surprise international retirement two months ago.
The Nigerian manager in an interview with South Africa’s Kick Off magazine however admitted that he was taken by surprise when Moses announced his retirement from the Super Eagles in August.
“It did come as a surprise, but we had to accept it. He (Moses) wanted to focus on his family and club.
“Unfortunately, he is now not playing regularly at Chelsea. He is only 27 and it really was a bit surprising, but we have to live with it.
“We tried to find a replacement for him and found (Samuel) Kalu from Bordeaux who has done well so far”, remarked Rohr. Kalu scored the fourth goal in Nigeria’s home defeat of Libya earlier this month.
