FIBA WORLD CUP FEAT CATAPULTS D’TIGRESS 15 STEPS UP THE LADDER IN WORLD RANKING

The good outing by the Nigerian women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, has yielded good dividends to Nigeria. In the latest world rankings released on Friday by FIBA, D”Tigress who finished eighth in the World Cup moved 15 steps up the ladder from their previous 34th position to 19th in the World. The Nigerian team is also rated as the biggest climber of the moment.

The United States, the back-to-back World Cup holders retained their first position. They are followed by Spain who retained their second position on the log. Australia, runners-up at the just concluded World Cup moved a step up the ladder to the third position.

France who finished fifth after eliminating Nigeria in the classification duel dropped a step down the ladder from their previous third to fourth.
