CAF AFFIRMS HOSTING RIGHTS FOR OTHER COMPETITIONS APART FROM AFCON 2019

Only Cameroun are on the danger list of losing the hosting rights of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations as the rights already ceded to other countries have been reaffirmed by the CAF Executive Committee which rose from a two-day meeting at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

Consequently, the schedule of other upcoming CAF competitions has been validated as follows:

 Africa Cup of Nations, Côte d’Ivoire 2021

A report of the inspection visit last July showed the progress of the work. Of the six stadiums required for the competition, four are to be built at nine and two are undergoing major renovations. For accommodation, three out of five cities have no infrastructure.

Nations Africa Championship, Ethiopia 2020

The CAF delegation returned from the April 2018 inspection visit and recommended a stadium inspection visit at the end of October 2018 to ensure that the prerequisites were met.
The dates of the final tournament will be reviewed with the Ethiopian authorities because of meetings of the African Union at the same time.

 

U23 Africa Cup of Nations, Egypt 2019
Final Tournament Dates: November 8-22, 2019

 

U20 Africa Cup of Nations Total, Niger 2019

 

Niger’s Head of State confirmed his commitment to preparations for the competition, during his meeting with CAF President, Ahmad last November.
The tournament is scheduled to run from  February 2 to 17, 2019
The qualified teams are: South Africa, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal and Niger

 

U17 Africa Cup of Nations, Tanzania 2019

Through the voice of its Prime Minister, the Tanzanian government has reaffirmed to CAF President Ahmad, his willingness to host the U17 CAN 2019 and to make every effort for its good organization.
The tournament will run from April 14 to 28, 2019. The qualified teams are: Angola, Cameroon, Guinea, Morocco, Nigeria, Uganda, Senegal and Tanzania. The draw for the tournament will hold in December 20th in Tanzania
In the zonal qualifiers, UEFA was involved financially and technically. UEFA technicians at all competitions worked hand-in-hand with those of CAF.

The purpose of area qualifications is long-term development. The MRI tests in the zone playoffs gave the tournament more credibility.

Africa Cup of Nations Women, Ghana 2018

Ghana had its initial hosting rights affirmed after fears of possible revocation. The tournament will run from November 17 to December 1.
The qualified teams are: South Africa, Algeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Mali, Nigeria, Zambia and Ghana. The evolution of the work will be followed closely by the administration.

Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations, Egypt 2018

The tournament will run from December 8 to 14, 2018. The qualified teams are Cote d”Ivoire,  Libya, Madagascar, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania and Egypt.
