FIBA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP, NIGERIA’S EVELYN AKHATOR NEEDS VOTES TO BECOME MVP

Nigeria’s Evelyn Akhator is one of the players already shortlisted for Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018 currently going on in Tenerife, Spain.

Ahead of the quarter-finals with USA, Evelyn Akhator has scored 58 points and still counting.

 She is listed along with 13 others for the coveted award as the competition has gone past the halfway mark. Other players listed are from China,

Statistically, the Nigerian lady has been impressive on account of points scored at the tournament. With 58 points score by her in the four matches she has played, Akhator is listed as joint 11th with Evanthia Maltsi of Greece among the 169 players registered for the tournament.

The Greek lady is already out of contention as she has no further match to play since her team is eliminated.

Furthermore five other players listed in the statistics of performance at the tournament are also out following the elimination of their teams, thus further pushing Akhator to possible sixth.

Possible improved performance against USA on Friday midday as well as performances in either the semi-finals or classification matches should project Akhator higher.

But she still requires fans to vote for her. This is where readers come in.
