Like the previous NFF elective congress, Katsina 2018 may witness its version of drama as one of the candidates jostling to become the president may be disqualified on the day of election.

The electoral committee has issued a release that there are discrepancies in the certificates submitted by one of the presidential candidates, Alhaji Aminu Maigari who was at the helms from 2010 to 2014.

According to the press statement signed by the chairman of the NFF Election 2018 Committee, Mohammed Sani Katu,  there are petitions against the candidate by Chuma Onye and Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe. The said petitions were dated September 14 and September 17 respectively.

The committee declared that during its screening exercise, discrepancies were discovered by the five-man panel who could not reach an agreement on whether to disqualify the candidate.

It therefore resorted to voting which was 3-2 in favour of the candidates. That led to a definitive clearance.

But owing to the two petitions and a reported none response to produce again the originals of the certificates in question as at Tuesday, the committee opted to downgrade its earlier clearance to provisional clearance.
