JOHN TERRY REVEALS JOSE MOURINHO’S ASTONISHING MANAGEMENT STYLE IN CHELSEA
John Terry has revealed the sensational threat Jose Mourinho issued him during a training session at Chelsea.
The former England centre-back played under the Portuguese both times he was in charge of the Blues and the pair won three Premier League titles together.
And Terry has opened up on the time he was utterly embarrassed by Mourinho following one of those successful league campaigns.
“He stopped the training session, came in, threw down his pad,” he recalled to the MailOnline. “‘If you keep giving the ball away, I will go and buy someone for £50million’.
“I am thinking: ‘I played every game for you last season! And now you’re trying to humiliate me!’. I didn’t understand why he was doing that, but my instinct was to run and give everything; flying into tackles, winning the ball.
“We made eye contact and he grinned. He knew exactly what he was doing – to get the best out of all of us.”
Terry added that he saw Mourinho use a similar technique on Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole and Michael Ballack in a bid to get the best out of them.
The former Chelsea defender’s comments provide a fascinating insight on Mourinho’s man management style.
