AHEAD AFCON MATCH WITH NIGERIA; TWO PLAYERS FROM GERMANY AND AUSTRALIA SWELL SEYCHELLES’ LIST TO 30

Following the difficulties in getting some of the local players for the next week Saturday encounter with the Super Eagles and the injuries some others are having, Coach of Seychelles, Gavin Jeanne has called up two overseas players to fill in the gaps.

In this regards, Australia-based Alexander Hoareau, midfielder and Carl Hopprich who plays in Germany have been called up. Carl Hopprich is also a midfielder.

They have increased the number of players the coach is expecting as the team begins a one-week training this Sunday, the same the Super Eagles’ players are expected to start arriving the chain of island nation od Seychelles.

The Seychelles team, nicknamed ‘The Pirates’, is expected to camp at Maison Football Ground in Roche Roche Caïman.

Online sports publication, www.sportsvillagesquare.com gathered that Jeanne, who returned as the national coach in March, plans to prune the 30-man list to 20 just before the encounter with Nigeria on Saturday. His team currently sit at the bottom of the four-nation Group E after their 5-1 away loss to Libya last year.

The players in Coach Jeanne’s pre-selection are:

Goalkeepers – Dave Mussard (La Passe), Alvin Michel (St Michel), Jerome Dingwall (Red Star Defence Forces), Romero Barra (LightStars).

Defenders –  Bertrand Esther, Juninho Mathiot, Jude Nancy (St Louis), Benoit Marie, Oliver Bonté, Jones Joubert (Côte d’Or), Laurel Ladouce, Adrian Constance (La Passe), Andrew Onezia, Colyn Francourt (Red Star Defence Forces).

Midfielders – Alexandre Hoareau (Australia), Colin Bibi (St Louis), Kiren Sinon, Basil Bertin (Northern Dynamo), Nelson Laurence, Trevor Vidot (St Michel), Carl Hopprich (Germany).

Forwards – Colin Esther (Côte d’Or), Jean-Claude Berlouis (PTL Bazar Brothers), Gervais Waye-Hive, Elijah Tamboo (St Louis), Randolph Lablache (Rovers), Perry Monnaie (La Passe), Darrel Damoo (Victoria City).
