Grassroots football specialist, Seyi Akinwunmi is again organizing the U-13 tournament aimed at raising new generations of footballers in the country. Akinwunmi, the first vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation and chairman of Lagos State FA, is organizing the Seyi Akinwunmi U-13 Tournament in Lagos.
He, as chairman of the youth development committee, is the prime mover of similar competition in the NFF which is being sponsored by Zenith Bank. The Seyi Akinwunmi Tournament under the auspices of Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation has invited six teams to participate in the three day tournament which will kick off at Campos Mini Stadium on Lagos Island next week Saturday.
The organizing body, the Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation is a non-profit organization aimed at the educational development of the indigent intelligent Nigerian Footballer Child.
The Foundation will create enabling environment to nurture and educate the football stars of tomorrow. Sports Village Square gathered that the project is part of Seyi Akinwunmi’s initiatives to put smiles on faces of young Nigerians.
Last year’s edition held in December had in attendance celebrities cutting across different segments of entertainment and sports.
