NIGERIA’S ABAH, ORJI FOR BADMINTON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Nigeria’s top badminton players, Eneojo Abah and Peace Orji departed Abuja Friday evening for the Badminton World Championship in China beginning on Monday at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre in Nanjing.

The duo will be playing in the mixed doubles event as they hope to do Nigeria proud at the championship which will bring together the best players all over the world.

Their sponsorship which is an all expenses paid by the Chinese One Belt One Road Sports initiative was secured during the last visit of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) President, Francis Orbih to China.

The players noted that they would do their best and display all the new skills they have acquired at the championship.

“We are good to go. We have undergone a lot of training recently and hopefully, we will do the country proud in China,” Abah added.

For Orji, the championship will afford them the opportunity to acquire more skills as they gun for the top in their chosen career.

“I am so happy for the opportunity to represent Nigeria at this championship. “I am also excited with the performance of the BFN and hopefully we will continue to break new grounds.”

The BFN president charged the players to do Nigeria proud and commended the sponsors for the gesture.
