BELGIAN RED DEVILS EXORCISED; IT’S FRANCE FOR FINAL!

 For the third time ever, France are again in the final of the World Cup after their exploits at home 20 years ago and getting to the Germany 2006 final.

They beat Belgium 1-0 in a very difficult duel. France who are the last hosts to play the World Cup final match and win it are again in the final after Tuesday night defeat of hard fighting ‘Red Devils’ of Belgium at the Saint Petersburg Arena.

Brave Belgians! They dominated play but found the resilient French side a very hard nut to crack.

Great thanks to Samuel Umititi whose near-post header became the decider of a match that was stalemated at half time. According to statistics released by FIFA, Umititi’s goal was the 32nd headed goal at Russia 2018.

The figure trails that of the 2002 World Cup when 35 goals were from headers.
