TAYO BALOGUN’S MOTHER BOWS OUT AT 99

Veteran broadcaster, sports analyst and administrator, Tayo Balogun has lost his mother, Rhoda Iyetomi Balogun, she was aged 99 years. The deceased is also a grandmother to Super Eagles’ media officer, Toyin Ibitoye whose mother, Kate Ibitoye, a retired permanent Secretary in the Government of Office, Kogi State, is a sister to Tayo Balogun.

The deceased’ link to sports is not limited to Tayo Balogun and Toyin Ibitoye, she was also a grandmother to Eyitayo Balogun Jr who is a sports journalist like the father.

According to the veteran journalist, Tayo Balogun, a Service of Songs and Christian Wake shall kick off the rites of passage in honour of the deceased who apart from the sports journalists’ son and grandchildren also had other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The events hold on Friday, April 27 at Ikotun Quarters, Aiyetoro Gbede, in Kogi State. The burial service will hold on April 28 at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Aiyetoro Gbede in Kogi State and will be followed by internment on the same day.
