AMAJU PINNICK, NOW A MAYOR

The president of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick has been honoured by his alma mater, the University of Benin. According to a media release by Baye Osagie Sylvester, the Public Relations officer of the university’s sports centre, Pinnick was honoured along with some other former students of the university who have distinguished themselves in sports.

Pinnick was conferred with the status of Mayor of the University of Benin Sports Centre as well as an award of Excellence in Sports Development by the university’s Department of Political Science. He was also presented with a portrait that has an artist impression of the NFF president. It was given to him by the Faculty of Social Sciences where he graduated 24 years ago.

Not only that, Pinnick  was also conferred with Sports Icon of the Year award  by the Faculty of Social Science and Public Administration and another award of excellence in sports by the Students Union Government , the university as well as  Award of Excellent in Sports by the  Office of the  director of sports of the university.

Also honoured at the occasion were Prince Vincent Okumagba and Rt Hon Victor Ochei, a former Speaker of the Delta House of Assembly who received awards from the Students Union Government and Anioma Students’ Association of the university.

Okumagba, a president of Nigeria Football Supporters Club also received an Award of Excellent in Sports.
